Happiness is a Watering Can at Children 1st @ Sheffield!

The children in our Bobtails unit have been helping us take such good care of our plants and trees in this lovely sunny weather.

After having lots of fun in the water play area earlier on in the day, the children used the remaining water to fill up their watering cans, which they independently carried across the playground to water the plants.

As soon as their watering cans were empty the children would exclaim they needed, “More!” as they headed back to the water tray. More and more children began to join in with their friends’ activity as they observed just how much fun they were having and together they repeated the action of watering the plants until the water was, “All gone!”

This was such a good opportunity to share with the children the importance of watering the plants when its sunny, just as it is important that we drink lots of water too. After all our hard work, we sat in the shade and had a big drink of water ourselves!
