Summer Garden Party at Children 1st @ St. Peter and St. Paul
Our Summer Garden Party was a huge success raising a whopping £1300 which was match funded by Children 1st to make a grand total of £2600. It was also memorable for fun and laughter generated by all the activities.
With a wonderful array of all the traditional stalls such as the popular cake stall, tombola, raffle and face painting, the event also had a sports day theme. Races for parents, children and staff caused great amusement and it was lovely to see how many people were willing to join in and have a go.
Perhaps one of the highlights of the sporting events was the staff wheelbarrow race. Parents were invited to have a flutter on their favourite to win raffle prizes. The whole event was hilarious for the spectators, but our competitive staff really did their best to be the winning pair. Well done to all our plucky staff!
Goodies from the sizzling BBQ made sure nobody went hungry after all their physical exertions and other stalls beckoned to ensure everyone had a good time.
The money raised will be donated to the Junior Diabetes Association and MacMillan Cancer Support, both chosen because of the support given by these charities to members of the nursery community.
Thank-you to everyone who came along to our garden party and to parents and local businesses who generously donated fabulous raffle prizes. A big thank-you also to Miss Ellie for organising her dance troupe ‘Just Dancing Studios’ to pop along and perform for everyone. And as usual, the staff team for making the day the success that it was!
