Roald Dahl Day at Children 1st @ Main Street
We love stories and rhymes at Main Street, so we’ve recently had a wonderful time celebrating the fabulous work of Roald Dahl whose books have sold more than 250 million copies worldwide. Roald Dahl wrote many of his best-known children’s stories, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda, in his writing hut at the bottom of his garden.
The children and staff came to nursery dressed as characters from Roald Dahl books. There was the Golden Ticket and Charlie from the Chocolate Factory, the BFG, Ladybirds from James and The Giant Peach, George from the Marvellous Medicine story, Fantastic Mr Fox and many more.
The children in Peter Rabbits enjoyed decorating their own golden tickets with crayons and plenty of golden glitter!! The children in Early Years made their own BFG ears using pipe cleaners and felt tips.
Some children brought in their favourite Roald Dahl stories which they shared with their friends during story time. All the children were fascinated by the new stories they heard.
What an amazing day we all had, all thanks to the creator of so many fabulous stories and of course, the great support of our families who transformed the children for a day with some fabulous costumes.
