Arrr! It’s Talk Like a Pirate Day at Children 1st @ Newark
Talk Like a Pirate Day is an international day of fun, designed to encourage talking and listening skills.
We celebrated the day by dressing up in our pirate finery and having a treasure trove of pirate related adventures. As the photos show, we had some great costumes to get everyone in the mood for talking like a pirate. The Peter Rabbits and early years set sail on an epic treasure hunt to find Mr Harvey Bear and the treasure hiding in the garden. The early years crafted some props to take along on their hunt.
The early years also sang along to some sea shanties as they worked and everyone used their fantastic listening ears to work together and find Mr Harvey and the treasure.
Isla really got in the mood showing no mercy when she said to Miss Sara, “You can walk the plank!” Poor Miss Sara! We hope her ordeal wasn’t too bad! Our pesky pirates certainly showed they were in the mood for a fantastic pirate day.
Thanks to our families who kindly provided the costumes.
