Teddy Bears’ Picnic Stay and Play at Children 1st @ Grantham

Inspired by our book of the month, ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ written by Michael Rosen, the early years were pleased to host a special ‘Stay and Play’ for their families. Incidentally, just like Children 1st Day Nurseries, it’s now 30 years since this beautiful book was first launched.

The children and their parents/carers brought along their favourite teddy bear for the picnic where we had some yummy milk and biscuits. Everyone then took part in a range of ‘bear’ themed activities including den building to make a cave for our teddy bears, going on a sensory walk like the family did in the story book, searching the garden for natural objects with which to make a self-portrait and exploring smelly playdough!

It was lovely to see so many parents and children attend the ‘Stay and Play.’ Many thanks to all who came along and joined in the fun!
