Harvest Collection in Support of the Local Food Bank at Children 1st @ Newark
The early years children and parents/carers at our Newark nursery enjoyed a wonderful celebration of harvest. On a lovely Autumn day, the children sang their seasonal songs outside in the garden much to the delight of their visitors. The Peter Rabbits came along to join in with the singing of ‘Dingle, Dangle Scarecrow’ and made us all very proud.
Everyone joined in to help make some scarecrows and having worked up an appetite, there was some freshly made bread to share which the children had made earlier.
The big green tractor was a great hit with the children who loved climbing on board for a ride and to have their photos taken.
All the food collected for the harvest celebration has been donated to the Newark Food Bank who provide a fantastic service for the community. A massive thank-you to everyone who kindly donated items for the hamper and to our special visitor from the foodbank who joined us for our celebration.
