The Wonder of the Seasons at Children 1st @ The Marina
The Bobtails have been busy exploring the season of Autumn through a range of sensory activities, all designed to encourage their speech and to help them begin to learn about the changes in the seasons and the weather.
They’ve been hands-on, playing with Autumn leaves in the cornflour and play dough, sticking brown crunchy leaves to paper with orange glue and enjoying the sensation of the ice melting to reveal the leaves frozen inside. They all loved using the leaves and paint to make printed pictures.
Here are some of their comments:
‘I made a snail!” said Eva as she explored the play dough and leaves.
“Big leaf, little leaf,” chanted Hattie, pleased with the rhyme she had created.
“Oohh, ahh,” said Bertie pointing to the rain, captivated by the fascination of the raindrops.
With an array of songs to sing and stories to share, the Bobtails sensory exploration of Autumn has been a source of wonder and awe!
