Bonfire Celebrations at Children 1st @ Buckinghams and Newark Town
Painting, cooking and exploring have been the theme across Children 1st nurseries during a busy bonfire week.
At Buckinghams in Leek, the Jemima Puddleducks created their firework pictures using edible paint. They made some tasty chocolate apples and loved exploring their firework themed tuff spot containing shiny foil, scented playdough, pipe cleaners, lollipop sticks and pom poms. What a treat for all the senses as they manipulated all those materials!
Newark Town rounded off their bonfire celebrations with a tea party featuring hot dogs and home-made parkin. The early years found out about why parkin is traditionally eaten at bonfire time and then donned their aprons and followed the recipe to bake their own cake. More cooking took place when the children made toffee and chocolate apples. Meanwhile, the Peter Rabbits were very busy using the firework playdough.
The children were so keen that they even took part in a home task to make their own pretend fireworks at home!
We done to all the children and we hope you had a great firework celebration with your families.
