A Memorable Fun Day at Children 1st @ Hathern
Thanks to the hard work of everyone involved, fantastic support from local businesses and a great turn-out, the Hathern Fun Day raised £1469.60 on the day to support the work of the charity ‘Living Without Abuse’.
After match funding by head office the total rose to £2939.20 which was presented recently to Debbie Hughes from the Loughborough based charity which is committed to raising awareness of domestic abuse, working towards its prevention and eradication, and assisting those affected by this crime to determine their own lives.
The busy day was full of fun and games with a great array of activities such as pony rides, the tombola, splat the rat game, face and nail painting, tattoos, a colouring competition, lucky dips, guess the name of the teddy, splat the staff and hook a fish.
The Fun Day also featured live entertainment and, to the delight of the children, a visit from Peppa Pig herself!
Local businesses donated over 65 prizes which made the raffle and the tombola great attractions on the day.
Dawn Dakin, nursery manager, comments, “We are so grateful to our families, the community, local businesses and the staff who made our Fun Day such a success and thank everyone involved for their kind support. We hope that our donation to Living Without Abuse will help to make a difference to people’s lives.”
