Blast Off to the Moon at Children 1st @ Sheffield
Here at Sheffield we are having a blast as we learn all about space.
Inspired by the story ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy, we decided to introduce Mr Harvey’s friend Baby Bear to our children.
After a long discussion with our very clever astronauts, we decided to get Baby Bear ready to travel to the moon with Mr Harvey. We wrapped them both up in their space suits and watched as Mr Harvey, Baby Bear and Miss Jess acted out our story.
We then thought about how we could travel to space and what better way than in our very own rocket. Our children drew the design and then made their spacecraft. We transformed our classroom into space and flew up in our rocket where we met Mr Harvey, Baby Bear and their new friends, the aliens!
We’re looking forward to more adventures in space as our topic continues.
