Robot Creations at Children 1st @ Plumtree
As part of our Space theme, the children have been busy at home and in nursery creating robots using recycled materials.
The children used their imaginations to design and make their robots, giving them special qualities. Whilst building their robots the children chatted about the resources they were using and their various textures. They also had to discover the best way of joining together the materials they were using.
The children delighted in showing the robots they had built at home and replenishing our collection of junk modelling materials by bringing in more supplies. They loved sharing the books about aliens, robots and space which they had brought from home.
Everyone was keen to talk about their robots. William said, “ My robot has pasta in his tummy!” Evelyn showed us all the buttons on her robot’s tummy. Matilda was pleased with the ‘massive robot’ which Miss Nicky helped to build. As the picture shows, the robot is rather splendid!
Our Space topic always fires the children’s imaginations and we had fun talking about the items the children would choose to take to space, along with what jobs astronauts do in space.
Thank-you to all the parents who joined in with the model making at home. We really enjoyed looking at and talking about all the robots.
