Greetings to Rex the Robot at Children 1st @ Shepshed

Let’s say,“Hello,” to Rex the Robot. Created by the Early Years’ children using junk modelling materials, Rex has been helping them to sound out the names of some of the objects found in the nursery.

Starting with cvc (consonant, vowel, consonant) words such as ‘pig’ and ‘cup’, the little ones have proudly been showing Rex the Robot their skills at blending the sounds together. To show how pleased he is with their efforts, Rex the Robot gobbles up the objects whose names have been sounded out! The children loved feeding the objects into Rex’s mouth and are keen to keep on using their knowledge of letter sounds as they hunt for more items to feed hungry Rex. Well done everyone!
