Thinking of Friends and the Community at Children 1st @ Derby Road
The early years children have been asking why some of their friends are not at nursery this week. So, we have been talking about staying safe and washing our hands to keep all those germs away. We later discussed that some people still need to work to help everyone in the community stay healthy and to have food to eat.
Our team explained that it’s important to think about our friends and the community at the moment and how a card or picture was a good way to say, “Thank-you.” The children have made a card for the staff at our local Asda and Tesco stores, as well as one for the dentist and for the vets. The community was so happy to see these cards appear and were very grateful that we were thinking about them and the great work they were doing.
We’ve also been busy creating a huge rainbow to send a message of support to our community.
