The FlumFlum Tree at Children 1st @ Newark Town
We have had so much fun with our story of the month, ‘Jack and the FlumFlum Tree’ by Julia Donaldson.
This delightful book tells the story of Jack’s Granny who is sick with a bad case of the moozles! The only cure is the fruit of the fantastic FlumFlum tree which grows on the faraway Isle of Blowyernose. It’s a perilous journey, but Jack bravely sets sail, with a motley crew of only three. We have loved sharing Jack’s adventure and acting out parts of it.
We especially enjoyed the part about blowing our noses. This prompted conversations regarding hand washing too!
We have painted our own FlumFlum tree and made patchwork sacks for our art and design projects.
We have planted our own FlumFlum trees, talking about how we care for living things and we have been giving Granny some moozle spots. We’ve been counting the spots and then recounting them if we add one or take one away. No wonder we’ve all had so much fun with out FlumFlum tree adventures!
