Inspired by ‘The Little Red Hen’ at Children 1st @ Leicester
After sharing the traditional tale, ‘The Little Red Hen,’ the children asked if they could make their own bread just like the hen does in the story.
After washing their hands, and weighing and mixing the ingredients it was time to knead the dough and patiently watch it rise before popping it in the oven.
The smell of the bread as it cooked made everyone’s mouth water and when we had it for tea we all agreed it was amazing! Well done everyone! Great team work produced a wonderful loaf of bread!
The children enjoyed talking about the ingredients they used and went on to use their imaginations to draw what the bread would look like when it came out of the oven.
