Barefoot Play at Children 1st @ St.Peter and St.Paul
Our under 2’s have enjoyed getting the full sensory experience! We took our shoes and socks off and enjoyed feeling the air round our feet and the sand and grass between our toes. Staff and children enjoyed races up and down the garden and walking along our sensory patch. Catching bubbles was great fun.
The benefits of playing outdoors barefoot include:
- Strengthening of the feet and ankles, improving balance and posture.
- Restoring our natural balance, hence walking barefoot is also known as earthing.
- Stimulation of pressure points and the nervous system.
Sounds good so why not give it a try and let us know how you get on.
