Wet and Wild Day at Children 1st @ Main Street
The children at Main Street have had a wonderful time taking part in a ‘Wet and Wild Day’ at nursery.
In our under 2’s unit the children looked at the photos of Peppa Pig in muddy puddles and then, outside in the garden, copied her by jumping in their own muddy puddle which they had created.
In Peter Rabbits the children loved getting extremely wet exploring lots of different methods of playing with water. They experimented with filling and emptying in the water tray, made big splashes in their wellies in the tuff tray, used paint brushes to water paint and even slipped down the slide into the water making huge splashes! It was clear to see the children were having a whale of a time. Inside the children also collaged their very own boat to take home using lots of coloured tissue paper.
The early years’ children used water in the garden to explore colour. The children had fun mixing, filling, pouring, stirring and transferring water using pipes, jugs, buckets, sieves and bottles. They were very excited to see what colours they could make. When they poured the water down the drain pipe, they watched as it changed colour as it met the more water at the bottom.
The children really loved getting wet and wild at nursery!
We would like to thank all of our parents who provided their child with extra clothes or water wear to take part in these fun-filled activities.
