World Honey Bee Day at Children 1st @ Shepshed
To celebrate ‘World Honey Bee Day’ we asked all of the children to dress in yellow and black, and spent the day finding out about honey bees.
This special day is observed each year across the globe to raise awareness of this special pollinator and to honour beekeepers. Numbers of bees are dwindling in the UK, so it’s important that we provide the plants and flowers they need to thrive.
The children painted their own bees, and went looking in the garden with the magnifying glasses to spot the bees buzzing in the garden.
We taught the children that we need to keep growing plants and herbs that the bees like, so they can keep pollinating our plants and making us yummy honey.
