The Big Garden Birdwatch at Children 1st @ Rosemary Lane
The Peter Rabbits have been busy finding out about the Big Garden Birdwatch and were inspired to do some nest making of their own!
The annual event is organised by the RSPB and asks volunteers to choose an hour between 29 and 31 January to count the birds they see in their garden. Details can be found at www.rspb.org.uk
The Peter Rabbits have been talking about the birds they might see out and about when it is chilly in the winter months. They’ve also been finding out about birds’ nests which led to our nest making activity.
Their delicious nests were made using shredded wheat and melted chocolate, with mini eggs added on top. Not surprisingly, sounds of “mmmm” were heard as the Peter Rabbits mixed in the chocolate.
No doubt more “mmmmm” sounds were heard as the children sat down to eat their yummy chocolate nests!
We hope the children will have have a good look over the weekend to see which birds they can spot coming to land in and around their homes. We look forward to hearing all about the Peter Rabbits’ bird spotting adventures!
