Icy Rescue at Children 1st @ Meir Park
The Early Years’ children have worked super hard to release the pesky peas from their icy trap!
Inspired by our topic story ‘Supertato,’ by Paul Linnet and Sue Hendra which tells the tale of how a spud fulfills his destiny as a supermarket superhero who is always on the lookout for danger, the children set about releasing the peas which were trapped in ice.
They used the water pipettes to drop warm water onto the ice to melt it and free the trapped peas. Such fun and a great way to begin learning about the properties of ice whilst also developing fine motor skills as the children carefully squeezed the pipette to pick up warm water and then release it onto the ice.
