The Tiger Who Came to Tea at Children 1st @ Oakwood, Derby
The Peter Rabbits’ children at Oakwood have been using their senses to explore a favourite story of theirs, ‘The Tiger Who Came for Tea,’ a classic children’s book by Judith Kerr.
The children savoured the smells and different tastes of the peppermint, camomile, lemon & ginger and raspberry teas as they poured their own cooled tea with their tea pots.
The children enjoyed listening to the water as it poured and watching it move as they stirred it round and round with their spoons. The children had a feel of the tea bags before they went into the water and talked about the differences they could see and feel!
Throughout the activity the children enjoyed playing with the tigers to follow along as the story was shared with them. This fantastic role play activity was loved by the children who carried out their tea pouring tasks with great care. No wonder this book is such firm favourite!
