Healthy Body, Happy Me at Children 1st @ Oakwood, Derby

Here at Oakwood the children have been getting involved in the annual National Day Nurseries campaign ‘Healthy Body, Happy Me’. This year it is all themed around ‘Nurturing with Nature’ in recognition of the role nature plays in inspiring curiosity and in bringing physical and mental well-being.

The Jemima Puddleducks and Bobtails have been exploring the start of Spring time in their blossoming sensory tray. Having real flowers and herbs to explore gave the children the opportunity to use their senses as they felt the soft petals and smelt the sweet perfume. This immersive sensory experience also supported the development of their early language skills.
