A Journey to Space and Back at Children 1st @ Syston
The children have been enjoying exploring our new topic ‘Space’ which has taken them off on various exciting adventures.
The tree room was transformed into a beautiful solar system where the children found out about planet Earth and other planets using our deep space projector.
The space travel station was the starting point for our journeys to the galaxy. Our space explorers used their own space passports and boarding passes as they blasted off to visit the planet of their choice.
Our younger children used their senses to explore our space gloop, using their fine motor skills to feel the textures and their language skills to describe what they could feel.
There were also songs and books to share. Everyone enjoyed singing along to ‘Five Little Men in a Flying Saucer’ and taking part in role play inspired by our story of the month which is ‘Whatever Next!’ by Jill Murphy.
We’re all looking forward to more space adventures as our topic continues.
