Fond Farewell to our Nursery Cook at Children 1st @ Derby Road

Angela Buckross who has delighted children at Derby Road for over 26 years with her wonderful cooking has finally hung up her apron to enjoy a well-deserved happy retirement.

Angela started her career at our first nursery on Breedon Street in Long Eaton, cooking for approximately 30 children. When her career came to a close this month, Angela was catering for over 100 children at Derby Road every day!

Angela, who is famed within the company for her home made scones and baking, enjoyed a special retirement ‘shout out’ on Radio 2 and a lovely farewell party. She will be sorely missed by staff and children alike.

We thank Angela for her long service to the children and the Company and wish her all the best for fun and fulfilment in her retirement. We know she has lots planned and now she’ll have the time follow her dreams!

As Angela leaves, we welcome our new cook Miss Tracey who we’re sure will soon settle in and follow the tradition of cooking great meals at Derby Road.
