Sensory Play at Children 1st @ Buckinghams
The Jemima Puddleducks have been immersed in so many sensory activities over the last few weeks.
They loved getting very messy in paint, feeling the texture of the paint on their hands and also making different marks with the shapes on the paper!
The ice scented balloons we made encouraged the babies to use their senses of touch and smell. The babies showed so many facial expressions as they touched the cold balloons.
The babies love to splash in water, splattering paint, creating bubbles and exploring the different sea creatures lurking in the water!
Sensory play such as this encourages learning through exploration, stimulates curiosity and creativity and provides opportunities for the babies to begin to solve problems. It also helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills.
For the children though, all these activities are about having fun, bringing smiles to their faces and playing happily alongside each other. Please enjoy sharing the photos.
