Mini First Aiders at Children 1st @ Main Street
As part of our topic ‘People Who Help Us’ we were very lucky to have a special visitor. Miss Kate, who is responsible for training all of our staff in first aid, came along to deliver a “mini first aid” session for our Early Years.
Kate began by showing us how to put someone into the recovery position which she demonstrated using her special helper bear! Everyone had a go at putting each other in the recovery position before we moved on to how to bandage injuries.
The children enjoyed putting their new skills to the test on Mr Kal, Miss Lindsey, and Miss Kate, as well as each other. Miss Kate also taught us the number we must ring in an emergency but emphasised only when necessary!
We finished off the session with a colouring activity before each child was presented with a certificate and a sticker to show their achievements.
Thanks to Miss Kate again for giving up her time to come and deliver this training.
Peter Rabbits have also been focusing on ‘People Who Help Us’, talking about the emergency services, how they help us, their uniforms, and their vehicles.
They were soon busy taking care of Big Teddy Bear by bandaging up his leg and arm. Using the thermometer, they checked his temperature to make sure he wasn’t too poorly. They children even checked each other’s temperature! Great work Peter Rabbits!
