Inspired by Autumn at Children 1st @ Toton
Now that Autumn has arrived the children in Early Years Yellow have been busy learning about this wonderful season and the changes it brings and using seasonal treasures in a variety of different activities.
The children took home special bags in which to collect their Autumn treasures and have used these items to create some fantastic large scale transient art pieces of trees and faces!
Everyone worked well together to build up and place various items such as sticks, leaves, conkers, and pinecones to create the different images on the floor!
The children have also been busy using their items during creative activities when making pinecone snails and painting trees using real leaves for decoration.
Additionally, the children had fun using our conker and pinecone run outside. The children collected the conkers and pinecones using buckets and rolled them down the guttering into the big tub. The children used this to have rolling races and experiment with making the items roll faster and slower by adjusting the guttering.
With such fun activities, it’s no wonder we are all enjoying an action-packed Autumn here at Toton.
