Ready for Christmas? at Children 1st @ Oakwood
Our gardeners are certainly hoping so as they keep a watchful eye on the potatoes they have planted ready to harvest for Christmas dinner!
This is just one of the activities our keen gardeners, guided by Miss Jane, have been busy with over at our nursery allotment. The children show brilliant hand and eye coordination skills when planting the seeds and always enjoy working together.
Early years recently enjoyed picking fresh tomatoes and peppers which our cook, Miss Gemma, prepared with the children and used in our nursery meals.
During group time we often speak about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables and their impact on our bodies.
Our Gardening Club sessions with Miss Jane have been a lovely way to get the children interested in gardening and understanding how much love and attention you need to grow the perfect fruits and vegetables.
We’ll be keeping our green fingers crossed that those potatoes are ready for Christmas!
