Hands on Learning at Children 1st @ Buckinghams
As the season changed to Autumn the Early Years were busy making the most of all this wonderful season brings.
We asked parents to collect a bag from nursery and go for an Autumn walk to see if they could find any conkers, acorns, pinecones and leaves of different shapes and colours.
We used the children’s collections as resources for activities throughout the week.
They loved making Autumn trees with fingerprint leaves, painting leaves and pinecones to see what patterns they would make, making Autumn crowns and making hedgehogs with playdough.
The children discussed the colours that Autumn brings and the animals that are busy at this time of year. We also talked about the change in weather, meaning we’ll need to start wearing wellies and hats again.
Meanwhile the Jemima Puddleducks have been busy exploring their world and having plenty of fun. They enjoyed the soft play where they used the shapes for a boat, exploring the dinosaurs in the gloop and looking closely at the animals in the sand!
