Fire Fighter Action at Children 1st @ Main Street and Toton
We are so grateful to the Fire Services across our region who visit our nurseries to talk about fire safety and to show the children the wonderful shiny red fire engines.
Recently our nurseries at Main Street and Toton enjoyed such visits as part of their ‘People Who Help Us’ topic. Needless to say, the children were really excited when the fire engine arrived! They listened really well as the fire fighters talked about their important work and how they save people’s lives.
As well as learning about calling 999, smoke alarms and all the protective equipment worn by the firefighters, the children had the opportunity to look ‘inside’ the fire engine and see all the equipment the machine carries. They were really interested in all its different parts and features, it really was like a giant toolbox on wheels! The children had the chance to sit inside the fire engine and even try on the very heavy helmets!
No visit would be complete without seeing the flashing blue lights in action and listening to the loud sirens!
A massive thank-you all the Fire Services who support us by visiting our nurseries. It’s always a wonderful experience for the children and one which they talk about for days to come! We may have many future fire fighters amongst us now!
