Healthy Body, Happy Me at Children 1st @ Plumtree
‘Healthy Body, Happy Me’ has been the focus of many of our activities here at Plumtree.
Our Peter Rabbits have been exploring different body movements by having a go at yoga with Miss Helena. First, the Peter Rabbits looked at our Meddy Teddy book to see all the different yoga poses. They then had a go at doing some of them. Peter Rabbits have also been finding out what happens when we mix colours together and our Early Years Blue have been exploring what happens with different sounds and using props to help with their investigations.
The Bobtails have been busy in the fresh air collecting leaves and twigs in their garden as they explored nature. They then worked together and made some beautiful pictures on the floor using the materials they had collected. Great work Bobtails!
Continuing our ‘Healthy Body Happy Me’ theme, our Jemima Puddleducks enjoyed exploring some different citrus fruits in the water and painting with the fruit. They were using their senses to explore sight, touch, taste and smell.
The under two’s have been using their senses to look closely at stories especially the ‘That’s not my ….’ books where they have been feeling the different textures.
These activities follow on from World Oral Health Day 2023, which saw our Early Years learning about the importance of teeth cleaning and how to clean them. The children enjoyed talking to Mr Kai and Miss Lauren at circle time about what they do at home to ensure their teeth are clean and shared their ideas. They took part in different activities to support this understanding including brushing our large set of teeth which the children got from our teeth cleaning station!
