Bumper Summer Extravaganza at Children 1st @ Newark Town

A massive thank you to everyone who came to our Summer Extravaganza. The staff were on site early to get everything ready and prepared a wonderful selection of games and stalls to welcome and entertain all our visitors. The sun shone and we had a visit from none other than Peppa Pig!

We hope parents past and present had a fantastic time. It was lovely to see our families enjoying themselves and to catch up with everyone’s news.

Thanks to the generosity of all our visitors we have raised over £1000 for the Children’s Bereavement Centre. This is an organisation which helps every grieving child and young person have access to specialist support when needed.

Thanks also to our staff who organised such a wonderful day.

On visiting our nursery to receive the cheque Katie Gibson, Fund Raising and Marketing Assistant at the Children’s Bereavement Centre was keen to illustrate how the donation could be used:

“Raising more than £1000 is so brilliant and makes such a difference here at the Children’s Bereavement Centre. As you can see this amount of money could be used to support 5 children with bereavement counselling helping change the lives of them and their families. I think it’s helpful to be able to give some context to the generous donations you have collected.”

How your donations could help the Children’s Bereavement Centre:

​£10 could help fund a comfort bear which is given to all the children accessing support.

£25 could pay for one play therapy session for a child.

£50 could buy crafts and toys to help children express their grief.

£100 could pay for memory books to help children remember someone who has died.

£200 could pay for 8 sessions of one-to-one bereavement support for a child.
