Star Bakers at Children 1st @ Plumtree
To mark the start of the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah), our Early Years children enjoyed being bakers and making the Jewish themed sweet bread – Challah!
The children loved mixing a range of ingredients before kneading the bread and then putting it in our oven!
Whilst doing this, we also enjoyed learning about different cultures and talking about the variety of food eaten by people across the world. The children were so interested that they couldn’t wait to learn more about this during our ‘International Community Week!’
The children loved watching our Challah bread bake and of course, loved smelling it too, before each taking home a piece!
To top off our fun filled day, we had an extra special person come to visit us, our CEO, David Hancock who we invited to try some of our baking. Our Challah bread gained a big thumbs up from him! What a brilliant time we had!
