A Flying Start to October at Children 1st @ Oakwood
October at our Oakwood nursery got off to a flying start as we welcomed grandparents and other people who are special to the children to spend some quality time with their little ones.
The children love having visitors and were so pleased to show their visitors some of the activities they enjoy at nursery. They made wonderful guides as they led the grown-ups around the setting. A visit to see the goats was a must on the grand tour!
A shared tea party was a delightful occasion with everyone having so much to chat about after such a busy stay and play event. Thank-you to all the grown-ups who were able to join us.
Staff at Oakwood were also pleased to host a training event for colleagues from across Children 1st nurseries who came together to develop their knowledge and skills around outdoor play with forestry elements to share with their teams and children. After an active session in the forest, the staff came together to enjoy a bite to eat cooked on the campfire and to reflect on their experiences.
A huge thank-you to Miss Jackie, forestry lead at Oakwood, for enabling this session to happen! We can’t wait to see what everyone gets up to across the nurseries during outdoor play.
