A Box of Happiness at Children 1st @ Newark

As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, we’ve been talking about all the things that make us and others happy.

Our children made a list of things they could do to make others happy and they came up with ideas such as drawings, painting, telling jokes, and a big hug.

The children then decided to make a happiness box for Miss Lea’s grandparents who are missing seeing all the children in their family. The children put so much love into the box and they received a lovely thank-you card back.

“My Grandma would like this too,” said Sadie.

The first ever Children’s Mental Health Week was held in 2015 to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health. Now in its seventh year, the aim is to encourage more people than ever to get involved and spread the word.

For Children’s Mental Health Week 2021 children (and adults) are being encouraged to explore the different ways they can express themselves, and the creative ways that they can share their feelings, thoughts and ideas and here at Newark we are pleased to take part in this national event.
