A Surprise Find at Children 1st @ Acorns Upper Tean

Our Peter Rabbits children went outside to collect different natural materials for their printing activity. As they were looking around, they came across a bird’s nest. Miss Laura carefully picked up the nest and the children were really keen to have a look.

We noticed that there were blue eggs shells inside the nest so we went on to talk about what might have been inside the eggs. This then led us onto talking about the nest being a bird’s house and the inside of the nest being a bed where the bird would lay its eggs and raise its chicks. Once all the children had finished looking at the nest, we placed it back into the trees remembering to make sure it was okay so the birds could come back to their house safely.

After their surprise find, the Peter Rabbits children continued to find different natural materials which included twigs, sticks, leaves and flower petals and then took these inside ready to do their printing.
