All About Me at Children 1st @ Derby Road

Our ‘All About Me’ theme got off to a great start with the children being keen to find out about themselves, and how and why they grow.

We had a look at baby photos and spoke about the things we do daily to make us grow big and strong.

They were fascinated to learn about their internal organs. Using the big pictures of the digestive system, the children spoke about the job done by the parts of the system and placed the organs where they thought they would be in their body.

The children also drew around their hands and painted on their veins. ‘Veins’, along with ‘calcium’ and ‘intestine’ are just a few of the new words the children have encountered so far. They loved the launch of the topic and went home excited to tell parents what they have been finding out about.

With more exciting activities planned, we’re sure the children’s knowledge about and fascination with the human body will continue to grow.
