All Hands on Deck at Children 1st @ Newark Town
Ship Ahoy! The Benjamin Bunnies have been busy creating their own boat and they all helped with the painting. The children chose the colours of paint themselves and helped to create a mast using a cardboard tube. The boat was named HMS Children 1st.
Everyone has enjoyed playing in their creation, climbing in and out confidently with their friends. We also sang some songs in it too. ‘Row, Row, Row Your Boat’ was the children’s favourite!
All this hard work made our sailors hungry! Inspired by a favourite traditional tale, ‘The Little Red Hen,’ the Benjamin Bunnies and the Peter Rabbits have enjoyed baking their own bread.
Miss Zoe was on hand to help the children add the various ingredients, mix them together and then kneed the dough before baking. The Little Red Hen would have been so pleased to see everyone lending a hand to make such delicious bread.
The children enjoyed taking their bread home with them at the end of the day too. We hope our families enjoyed their delicious treat.
