Autumn Celebrations at Children 1st @ Oakwood

To celebrate Harvest the children in Bobtails had lots of fun making their own red tractor.  They took it in turns to apply the paint and worked as a team using the brushes. Whilst painting the tractor we sang ‘Old McDonald’ and ‘Little Red Tractor!’

Once the paint had all dried the children had fun dressing up as farmers and driving their tractor around the farm to harvest their crops. Great team work Bobtails!

The Bobtails children also explored their natural environment by going on a walk to find pinecones, twigs and leaves. We used our gross motor skills to scoop the pine cones placing these in different sized containers. As the children played in their collections, we spoke about the textures of their gatherings.

Jemima Puddleducks have been having fun with pumpkins as they used their senses to explore the colours of autumn and the wonder of natural resources that come with the season.

They used their senses to touch, smell and look at the textures of the pumpkin whilst using their palmer and pincer grips, as well as their gross motor skills.

Zip lock bags filled with pumpkin seeds and lots of autumnal leaves in our tuff tray were great for exploring. The children were amazed by the feel of the pumpkin and babbled babbling whilst playing, saying, ‘Wow’ and ‘Ooo!’

The children are certainly making the most of what the wonderful season of autumn has to offer.

We hope you enjoy looking through the lovely images of harvest and autumn at Oakwood
