Baking for Macmillan at Children 1st at Wragby Road
We are so pleased to share the news that our ‘Great Wragby Road Bake Off’ in support of Macmillan Cancer Support which took place last week was a huge success. The staff have worked so hard to make wonderful cakes for parents to buy at drop off or collection. Mr Wayne, our judge, had the honour of trying all the cakes to find an overall winner. What a tough job!
In our view all our staff deserve a round of applause and a big ‘thank-you’ for all their hard work helping to raise as much money as possible for such a worthwhile cause!
The amazing lemon cake was a firm favourite selling out very quickly. Luckily the Rocky Road cakes stepped in to fill the gap.
The week started fabulously, thanks to the generous support of our families. An amazing £48.70 on day one! With more delicious cakes added through the week, the cake stall drew in the crowds and boosted the funds even more. Early Years’ parents who came for Sophie’s story time on Friday were asked for a donation to enjoy some yummy treats, raising even more money. Cake and stories! How fanatastic!
And our charity week wasn’t just about fund raising. It was lovely to see the children and staff entering into the spirit by dressing in shades of green and even getting involved in baking for our cake sales.
We cannot thank everyone enough, from our parents who have baked cakes and given donations, to our staff who have enjoyed a bake off and of course our wonderful children who, as well as dressing in green, have joined in with lots of green activities throughout the week. We are overwhelmed with the support we have received, thank you!!!! So far we have raised an awesome £240.11 so far for Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause close to many people’s hearts.
