Boats, Boats, and More Boats at Children 1st @ Birstall

As part of the theme ‘Travel and Journeys’ the children at Birstall have enjoyed some wonderful creative activities.

How about making an edible boat? Using apples, cocktail sticks, and cheese, this is just what the children did. They then talked about where they would want to go on their boat and then during snack time, the boats disappeared as if by magic! We’re sure they tasted as good as they looked!

Another activity focused on using junk materials to build a sea going boat.  Using their imaginations to create their own boats, they then used bottles, masking tape, glue, scissors, paint, and card to get creative.

After making their boats, the Early Years held an exciting boat race. The children supported each other and tried their best, but only two winners succeeded in completing the race. What a great effort from everyone!
