Carrot Harvest at Children 1st @ Plumtree
Our Early Years were so excited to see that some of our vegetables have started to come through in our planting patch!
Over the past few months, they have seen a variety of vegetables grow in our planting patch, including broad beans, tomatoes, and even giant lettuces! They were so thrilled however when they saw some carrots emerging from the soil.
With the help of Mr Liam, the children used their super strength to pull the carrots out from the patch. Although the carrots might not have been as big as we were expecting, Mr Liam taught us lots of important information about vegetables including what they need to grow and how best to make sure they grow tall and straight!
The children enjoyed a close-up inspection of the carrots, smelling them, comparing their lengths, and counting how many leaves had grown on the stalks!
We can’t wait to see if any more vegetables will be ready for picking next week!
