Egg-citing Experiments at Children 1st @ Main Street and Syston - Children 1st Day Nurseries

Egg-citing Experiments at Children 1st @ Main Street and Syston

For National Science Day, the children at Main Street and Syston took part in various exciting experiments and investigations.

Peter Rabbits at Main Street enjoyed experimenting with bubbles, seeing how big they could make them and if they could even fit inside them!

Early Years conducted their own investigations throughout the week in their science lab, as well as participating in an egg-traordinary experiment to see how different drinks such as water, cold coffee and energy drinks can affect the shell of an egg as this is similar to the enamel on our teeth.

Over at Syston, the Early Years enjoyed taking part in a range of science experiments to celebrate this special day.

They made rain clouds using shaving foam, water and food colouring and used paintbrushes to make droplets into the shaving foam. They then watched carefully  to see what would happen next.

For the fizzy colours experiment, the children used bicarbonate of soda, food colouring and vinegar to create a rather beautiful reaction with the smarties.

During these activities the children were able to make predictions of what would happen next.

Well done to all our young scientists. We’re sure there will be be many more investigation throughout the year as the children continue to develop their skills.
