Eid Celebrations at Children 1st @ Leicester and Sheffield
The children have enjoyed dressing up in traditional clothes and bright colours to celebrate Eid,the Muslim Festival which marks the end of a period of fasting known as Ramadan.
The Early Years children at Leicester loved having the traditional henna patterns drawn onto their hands and some has very creative ideas of what they wanted their pattern to look like. The children also had a go themselves of creating some colourful mendhi patterns. They had a tasty time icing some biscuits with chocolate and sprinkling lots of sprinkles before settling down to eat them.
What a fantastic day Early Years and Peter Rabbits Red group at Sheffield enjoyed as they celebrated Eid! The Henna Station was a massive success with some amazing counting going on and choosing of their own patterns. Everyone joined in with some festive dancing and learned all about EID, and why it is celebrated.
A big thank-you to Bibi at our Sheffield nursery and her family for bringing in the delicious home baked traditional cookies, sent all the way from Saudi Arabia!
We hope all of our families celebrating EID have had a wonderful time.
