Happy Ducklings at Children 1st @ Oakwood

There has been great excitement at Oakwood recently as four of the eggs we’ve been incubating have hatched to produce the most beautiful ducklings.

All our children have been enjoying the opportunity to closely observe the ducklings and watch their growth. They’ve learned how to feed them and the importance of giving them fresh water.  As well as sharing stories on the theme of ducks and singing songs, our Early Years have been learning all about the life cycle of a duckling.

Perhaps best of all, the children have had some amazing bonding opportunities. They’ve learned how to handle the ducklings carefully and have delighted in giving them tender cuddles.
