It’s Getting to Look a Lot Like Christmas at Children 1st Day Nurseries
December is such a busy time at out nurseries as we get into the festive spirit with a whole host of activities. Here’s just a taster of what we’ve been up to.
Staff love to start off the festivities by decorating their nurseries, often to surprise the children when they arrive the next day. The children at Sheffield were so excited to see Santa’s sledge flying across the nursery. The pretty lights above the Post Office at Bilborough gave a magical feel to the nursery.
Sometimes the children find that a pesky elf has been busy overnight as well. The Peter Rabbits at Rosemary Lane found the elf had raided the kitchen, helping himself to all the fruit and vegetables. At Hathern, the little elf managed to hide himself on the Christmas tree!
Christmas outfits are beginning to make an appearance, bringing bright colours to our nurseries, and giving everyone plenty to chat about. We had a super collection of socks at Hathern, while at Toton it was the Christmas hats which brought smiles to faces.
The dark winter days are an especially good time to snuggle up for a good read. The Bobtails at Plumtree love exploring their interactive festive stories, feeling the textures, pressing buttons for sounds, lifting the flaps, and pulling and pushing the tabs to make movements.
Our Newark Town nursery is helping to spread the magic of Christmas beyond the nursery. The children have been busy making decorations and helping to decorate a Christmas tree for the Christmas tree Festival at the local church. It looks fantastic! Great work Newark Town!
With Christmas jumper days, nativity plays, parties and Christmas dinner, there’s so much more festive fun to look forward to at all our nurseries.
