Jack and The Beanstalk at Children 1st @ the Marina

Following on from our Jack and the Beanstalk theme at nursery, we used the story to create small world and role play opportunities. The children enjoyed exploring the Jack and the Beanstalk tuff tray where they were able to take on the roles of the different characters. One child said, “I’m the giant at the top!”

As well as taking on the roles, the children were able to retell and develop the story.

The story also provided the stimulus for planting some of our own beans. After finding out how to go about this, the children used the information to plant their own ‘magic beans’ and are looking forward to watching them grow into beanstalks.
