Junk Transformations at Children 1st Day Nurseries

One person’s junk maybe the source of creative inspiration to someone else as shown across our nurseries as the staff rolled up their sleeves to have some fun modelling with unwanted materials.

We usually showcase the work of the children on these pages but thought that the works of art produced at these evening training sessions were well worth sharing!

Junk modelling activities have a host of benefits such as encouraging the children to learn more about materials and ways of joining them together to make whatever their imagination inspires them to do. Then there are the benefits of developing communication skills, developing language relating to building, learning to persevere and solve problems and working as a team. When the model is built, the skills of decoration such as painting with various tools and applying other finishes come into play. The whole junk modelling experience is about far more than the finished product, great though that maybe.

The staff had great fun with this activity and the laughter of the sessions showed the enthusiasm our staff bring to bear during these training sessions.
