National Relaxation Day at Children 1st @ Toton
To celebrate National Relaxation Day, the children came to nursery dressed in their PJs and lounge wear and joined in with some relaxing activities.
National Relaxation Day is an American day of celebration thought of by a child then aged 9, called Sean Moeller. It’s been on the calendar of days to mark since 1985. It’s a day that encourages us all to slow down, breathe and relax, to try and take a break from the hustle and bustle of life. Sean is still very committed to the cause and his idea has been taken up by many charities and organisations, including Sport England.
Here at Toton, the children enjoyed having group foot spas and joining in with calming stretches and yoga. The children all loved blowing bubbles to each other and trying to catch bubbles on their bubble wands.
The day ended with everyone having a lie down and listening to some relaxing music whilst refreshing their eyes with cucumber slices.
What a fab relaxing day we all had, giving us plenty of energy to cheer on England’s Lionesses in their World Cup semi-final match against Australia the following day.
