Nurturing With Nature at Children 1st @ Shepshed
At Shepshed the children have enjoyed a range of activities inspired by Healthy Body, Happy Me Week 2021. This year’s focus is ‘Nurturing with Nature’ in recognition of the role nature plays in inspiring curiosity and in bringing physical and mental well-being.
The children made some bird feeders for our garden using ingredients which are beneficial to the birds. They have also explored a variety of vegetables and set up a root race experiment with different vegetable tops to see if any of them will grow again.
Our weather related activities which included super messy welly painting were great fun. Everyone made kites and then flew them outside although it wasn’t really windy enough! Miss Amy had frozen some flowers and petals in ice which the children really enjoyed exploring.
In our garden the children built a bug hotel, named ‘Hotel Sparkle’ by Lillie and Isla. They collected lots of things from the garden that bugs like and helped Miss Amy to put the hotel together.
Everyone is looking forward to seeing what bugs come to stay and which vegetable top wins the root race!
